Camp Seafarer's Run a Kid to Camp (RAKTC) program began 25 years ago in 2000 when three members of Seafarer's leadership staff approached the directors with an idea: to use a marathon as a fundraising opportunity to send more children to Camp.
Since then, more than 900 alumni, families and friends of Camp have trained for and run half or full marathons. This endowment, which provides camperships to girls of single parents, has sent more than 100 girls to Camp since its inception.
We are excited to share that the 2025 festivities will be held in Wilmington, North Carolina the weekend of February 21-23, 2025.
Please join us for:
- 1 Mile Fun Run for Kids (14 and under) on Friday afternoon
- Half, Full or Relay Marathon on Saturday morning
- Supporting and cheering for our runners throughout race day
- Saturday night post-race celebration with dinner - Aloft Hotel

The RAKTC Weekend Package: $125
Participate in the Wilmington Half, Full or Relay Marathon as a runner, walker or support team member. Package includes RAKTC swag, snacks on Friday and Saturday, and dinner on Saturday night at the hotel listed below.
To participate as a runner/walker, you MUST also sign-up online with the Wilmington Marathon. Use code "ymca10" to receive 10% off the registration fee.
All runners and support team members are asked to raise or donate $500.00
Friday Night Kids 14 and Under Fun Run Package: $20
Participants 14 and younger will join the free 1 mile “Fun Run” on Friday night. Package includes RAKTC swag and snacks prior to the race. To participate as a “Fun Run” runner/walker, you MUST also sign-up online with the Wilmington Marathon. Fundraising is optional.
Saturday Night Dinner Package: $35
Package includes Saturday night meal (at the hotel listed below) and participation in the post-race celebration. This option is for parents, alumni and other friends of Camp who would like to only participate in our Saturday night dinner celebration. Fundraising is optional.
